In autumn 2006 we helped the Spanish wine company United Wineries relocate from Westminster to their new UK headquaters by the Thames.

The location couldn't have been better - right opposite the Tate Modern and next to the Millennium Bridge. Passers-by would be able to look directly inside, through a dramatic and very beautiful curved glazed wall.

Our brief was to refurbish the empty space, creating prestigious offices to reflect the company's international standing and to incorporate a state-of-the-art wine tasting area. Wine buyers from all over the world would come here to sample the best vintages in the kind of environment you'd expect to find on a Spanish wine estate.

The works

The refurbishment works included installing bespoke furniture, full height glazed partitioning, flooring, blinds, decorations and the commanding new entrance. Electrical and plumbing work involved supplying designer light fittings, and connecting non-standard waste extraction pipes with the existing pipework.

Without doubt the biggest challenge was the timescale particularly the Wine tasting Area. We started work during the last week in October and the project needed to be up and running by the 4th of December. On top of the basic works, there were wiring and plumbing issues to solve, and liaison between the landlord, architects, engineers and planning authorities. We also supplied an alarm system and audio visual equipment. We kept in close contact with the Spanish designers throughout, to ensure we realised their creative concept as exactly as possible.

The project was completed on time, and United Wineries were delighted with the results: "My experiences with Vision Inspired have been most inspiring to say the least. We had two very important projects, namely the relocation of our offices to another site and the expansion of our new offices.

On both occasions we were under an enormous amount of pressure to complete the work in a very short space of time. Not only were Vision Inspired extremely reliable - the quality and service of their work was exceptional. They were always on hand to sort out any problems in a speedy and efficient manner, making it a pleasure to work with them.
